Process Development Specialist

SUMMARY

As a Process Development Specialist, you will be responsible for executing mid‑ and full‑scale bioreactor processes and large‑scale 2D cell culture, while supporting technology transfer to external manufacturing partners. You will play a key role in process optimisation, troubleshooting, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Bioreactor & Cell Culture

• Execute mid‑ and full‑scale bioreactor runs according to defined schedules
• Perform routine and large‑scale 2D cell culture activities
• Identify root causes of process issues and design experiments to resolve them
• Document outcomes and recommend process or technique improvements

Reporting & Documentation

• Draft, review, and present experimental reports and datasets
• Prepare technical transfer documentation within approved quality frameworks
• Present findings to internal stakeholders in technical forums

Technical Transfer

• Support technology transfer to manufacturing partners
• Coordinate with manufacturing and cross‑functional teams
• Prepare and deliver training related to bioreactor and process transfer activities

General & EHS

• Support laboratory housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and gas supply management
• Adhere strictly to laboratory procedures and health & safety standards

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline (Master's or higher desirable)
• 4–5 years experience in Cell Biology / Cell Therapy
• Hands‑on experience with aseptic cell culture techniques
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Flexible and adaptable in a changing project environment
• Results‑oriented and outcome driven
• Comfortable working independently and within cross‑functional teams
