The Process Control Engineer (Systems) develops, deploys, and sustains Micron's Process Control Systems (PCS) across Assembly & Test manufacturing. This role supports (not limited to):
SPACE Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Applied Materials E3: Fault Detection and Classification (FDC) and Run to Run (R2R)
MES (Manufacturing Execution System), MESCentral, and MAM (Manufacturing Application Management)
RMS (Recipe Management Systems)
The position works closely with Process Engineering (PE), Equipment Engineering (EE), Automation/IT, Manufacturing, and Global Quality to ensure proactive control, strong governance, and audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
1) PCS Systems Ownership
Configure and sustain Applied E3 Process Control (Trace, UVA, models, alarms, data health).
Build and maintain SPACE SPC charts, limits, and automated reactions.
Ensure stable SECS/GEM communication and equipment-to-host connectivity.
Maintain MES/MAM/RMS interfaces with strong data integrity and version control.
2) SPC Strategy & Governance
Lead SPC lifecycle: variable selection, chart setup, limits, automated responses, and chart health reviews.
Ensure alignment with Micron Global SPC Standards and quality system requirements.
3) FDC & OCAP Management
Develop and maintain FDC models, classifiers, traces, and limits.
Validate UVA and reduce false alarms for stable production performance.
Govern OCAP (Out of Control Action Plan) logic and changes via ECN (Engineering Change Notice).
4) MES / MAM / RMS Engineering
Support MES and MAM logic, events, data collection, and equipment states.
Govern RMS recipe/version consistency supporting SPC and FDC execution.
Troubleshoot system logic and collaborate with Automation Technology (ATAuto) on improvements.
5) Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
Track key metrics: OOC (Out of Control) rate, false alarms, FDC coverage, reaction compliance/TAT (Turnaround Time), system reliability.
Perform structured Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Automate tasks using SQL, Python scripts.
6) Collaboration & Audit Readiness
Partner with PE, EE, PDE, MCT, AT Auto, and Global Quality.
Maintain documentation, entitlement controls, and audit-ready evidence.
Share and adopt best practices through global PCS forums.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in EE, ME, ChE, CE, CS, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
Must have at least 2 years of experience with SPC governance and audit processes: with at least one Micron system: Applied E3 FDC/R2R, SPACE SPC, SECS/GEM, MES/MESCentral, RMS.
Minimum to have at least 5 years of experience in the relevant field.
Knowledge of SPC concepts, capability indices, OOC vs. OOS (Out of Spec).
Experience owning E3 models and SPACE SPC frameworks.
Experience with FDC/OCAP in Assembly & Test or Frontend facilities.
Exposure to predictive analytics, or smart manufacturing platforms.
Skills in scripting (SQL, Python) and process/equipment data interpretation.
