Job Description

Job Description:

  • Design and run experiments and analytical work that reflect chemical and, where applicable, biocatalytic manufacturing constraints, generating data that directly supports commercial campaign decisions, troubleshooting, and process robustness.
  • Build and apply working knowledge of enzymatic and immobilised enzyme processes, including enzyme preparation and handling, activity and stability bahaviour, reuse and deactivation, and translate this into campaign support and process improvement.
  • Coordinate end-to-end technical transfer of new products, acting as the site focal point to align process intent, critical parameters, impurity strategy, raw-material/spec changes, and documentation expectations through clear, timely communication with HQ researchers and internal functions (Production/QA/Analytical), ensuring readiness for successful execution at site.

  • Support stable production by driving campaign and conducting quality and technical risk assessments prior to execution.

  • Investigate technical issues during production using data- and evidence-based root-cause analysis (process data, samples/analytics, deviation/event logs), and define effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with clear owners, timelines, and success criteria.

  • Develop, optimise and implement chemical and, where applicable, biocatalytic manufacturing processes for new and existing products, including production scale-up, process robustness work, and management of technology transfers across functions/sites-ensuring processes are practical, controllable, and reproducible at commercial scale.

  • Ensure process design, changes and technical implementations are aligned with GMP and regulatory expectations, including appropriate documentation, change control, traceability, and quality risk management to support compliant commercial manufacture.
  • Document process knowledge, experimental history, and troubleshooting outcomes so that specialised technical understanding is retained and transferable within the department.

Requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry related fields with 2 years relevant experience in a chemical R&D or manufacturing setting.

  • Experience in organic synthesis or process chemistry is desirable.

  • Willing to work in manufacturing business field with a combination of lab work, researching and engineering skills including infrequent off-hours/overnight support during critical campaigns.

  • Able to work in a chemical laboratory environment and wear required PPE
