Role Description
The Private Equity Investment Associate will support all aspects of the investment process, from deal origination to portfolio management. This role requires strong financial modeling skills, investment judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively with senior professionals and portfolio company management teams. The Associate will be actively involved in evaluating new investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, structuring transactions, and driving value creation initiatives within portfolio companies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting in-depth financial analysis, including building and maintaining detailed financial models (DCF, LBO, operating models).
- Performing company, industry, and market research to evaluate potential investment opportunities.
- Supporting due diligence efforts, including analysis of financial statements, business operations, competitive positioning, and legal/regulatory factors.
- Assisting in the preparation of investment memoranda and presentations for internal committees and external stakeholders.
- Collaborating with senior team members to structure and negotiate deal terms.
- Monitoring portfolio company performance, analyzing KPIs, and supporting operational improvement initiatives.
- Participating in board meetings, management discussions, and strategic planning for portfolio companies.
- Staying informed on macroeconomic trends, sector dynamics, and transaction activity within private equity markets.
- Building and maintaining relationships with advisors, intermediaries, and industry contacts to support deal sourcing.
- Contributing to fundraising efforts, investor reporting, and other firm-level initiatives as needed.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. An MBA, CFA, or CA qualification is a strong advantage.
- 16 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, management consulting, or corporate development.
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills, with expertise in LBO and DCF modeling.
- Strong understanding of accounting, financial statements, and corporate finance principles.
- Solid experience in conducting due diligence and evaluating investment opportunities.
- Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience preparing and delivering presentations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
