Job Description

Private Equity Investment Analyst

Our client is a leading Asia-focused private equity investment firm with an exceptional investment track record spanning several decades. Managing close to US$10 billion in capital commitments, the firm invests across private equity funds, secondary transactions, co-investments, and private companies throughout Asia.

Following a successful recent fundraise, they are recruiting a bright and motivated Investment Analyst to join its investment team based in Singapore as part of its aggressive expansion. The successful candidate will gain deep insight into the Asian private equity industry and a wide range of investment skills by working closely with a team of seasoned private equity professionals.

Key Responsibilities

A) Investment Analysis & Due Diligence

  • Conduct detailed financial, commercial, and qualitative analysis on prospective fund investments, secondary transactions, co-investments, and direct private equity opportunities.
  • Perform investment due diligence independently and collaboratively with senior investment professionals.
  • Prepare investment memoranda, financial models, presentations, and supporting materials for Investment Committee discussions.
  • Assist with transaction execution, including NDAs, indicative offers, purchase agreements, legal documentation, and deal closing processes.

B) Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor portfolio company and fund performance through financial and operational analysis.
  • Prepare portfolio reviews, investment updates, and performance reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Develop investment commentary and presentation materials for annual meetings and portfolio review sessions.

C) Market Research & Investor Support

  • Conduct industry, market, and thematic research to support investment origination and deal sourcing initiatives.
  • Support fundraising activities by preparing investor materials and responding to investor requests.
  • Assist in organising investor meetings, events, and other investor relations activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, or a Big Four accounting firm.
  • Strong understanding of financial modelling, valuation methodologies, financial statement analysis, and accounting principles.

Critical Skills

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced investment environment.
