About the role
We are a Singapore-based family looking for an experienced private chauffeur to become a trusted, long-term part of how our household runs.
This is not a point-to-point driving job. On any given day you may take our children to school and activities, accompany a senior family member to a medical or social appointment, collect guests from Changi, and handle a handful of errands in between. The driving itself is the easy part - what makes this role work is judgment, warmth, and the kind of discretion that means the family never has to think twice.
In return, you'll join a household that values the people who work in it, pays properly, and intends this to be a role you stay in for years.
The shape of the day - please read this carefully
We want to be completely upfront, because this suits some people very well and others not at all.
The day typically begins around 11.00am and can run to midnight. It is not thirteen hours of driving - there are long stretches between engagements, some spent waiting outside a school, clinic or restaurant, and some spent back at the residence.
We are looking for someone who fills that time rather than waits it out. At the residence, that means the vehicles kept immaculate, servicing and admin stayed on top of, and a genuine willingness to lend a hand with whatever the household needs. When waiting out on a job, it means being ready and contactable, with the practical things already handled before they're asked for.
Evenings matter in this role. Dinners, airport runs and late finishes are a regular feature, not an exception. Schedules also change at short notice, and we need someone who absorbs that calmly rather than someone it unsettles.
If you value long, unbroken evenings at home, this role will frustrate you and we'd rather you know now. If you prefer a late start, don't mind waiting, and want a stable, well-paid position with one family for the long term, it's an excellent fit.
What you'll do
Driving and safety
- Provide safe, smooth, punctual transport for family members and their guests across Singapore, and occasionally into Malaysia.
- Plan routes ahead of time with traffic, weather and ERP in mind build in buffer rather than making up time on the road.
- Maintain a calm, defensive driving style at all times - particularly with elderly passengers and children on board.
- Be reachable and responsive during working hours, and adaptable when the day's schedule changes at short notice.
Supporting senior family members
- Assist elderly passengers into and out of the vehicle with patience and care, including help with mobility aids where needed.
- Accompany them to appointments - waiting on site, assisting to and from the door, and being a steady, reassuring presence.
- Adjust pace, temperature, music and conversation to their comfort without being asked twice.
Supporting the children
- Handle school pick-ups, enrichment classes, sports and social commitments reliably and on time.
- Ensure correct use of child seats and restraints on every trip.
- Keep a calm, friendly and appropriate manner with the children be alert to their safety at drop-off and pick-up points.
Guests and hosting
- Collect and transport family guests, visitors and business associates with polished, professional service.
- Act as an informal ambassador for Singapore. Many of our guests are visiting for the first time, and the drive from Changi is their first impression of the city. We'd like someone who can bring it to life - the history behind what they're passing, where to eat that isn't in the guidebook, which market is worth the early start, what's actually worth an afternoon and what isn't.
- Hold an easy, warm conversation when it's welcome - and read the room instantly when it isn't. Knowing when to fall silent matters just as much as having something to say.
- Represent the family well: courteous, well-presented, and unflappable.
Around the household
- Work as part of the household team, coordinating easily with our other staff.
- Take on practical tasks at the residence during quieter periods - grocery runs, moving and lifting where needed, keeping the garage and driveway in order, and generally pitching in.
- Bring a hand-in, no-task-beneath-me attitude. We are looking for someone who becomes a genuine part of how the household runs, not someone who sits in the car until the next trip.
Errands and family logistics
- Manage day-to-day errands: collections and deliveries, documents, dry cleaning, groceries, pharmacy, gifts, servicing appointments.
- Coordinate with the household team and family office on scheduling so the day runs without friction.
- Anticipate needs - the umbrella in the boot, the cooler bag for the market run, the earlier departure because of rush hour.
Vehicle care
- Keep all vehicles immaculate inside and out, fuelled, and ready to move at any time.
- Track servicing, insurance, road tax and inspection schedules, and flag issues early.
- Maintain a simple log of mileage, expenses and maintenance.
What we're looking for
Essential
- Valid Singapore Class 3 driving licence with a clean driving and traffic record.
- Minimum [5] years experience as a private, family or executive chauffeur, ideally with luxury vehicles.
- Excellent working knowledge of Singapore roads, and comfort driving into Malaysia.
- Absolute discretion. You will see and hear things about the family's private and business life, and you will never discuss them - with anyone, ever.
- Genuine ease with both elderly passengers and young children.
- Strong service instincts: punctual, well-groomed, courteous, and proactive rather than instructed.
- Sound judgment and initiative - able to solve small problems independently and escalate the ones that matter.
- A self-starting temperament. Quiet periods are used well, not waited out.
- Deep local knowledge of Singapore and the confidence to share it engagingly with visitors.
- Good spoken English and comfort using a smartphone for navigation, messaging and scheduling apps.
Advantageous
- A background in hospitality, private aviation, luxury limousine service or licensed tour guiding.
- Singapore Tourism Board tourist guide licence.
- Additional languages spoken in the household or by visiting guests.
- Defensive driving, first aid or CPR certification.
- Experience supporting elderly family members with mobility needs.
- Prior experience in a household with other domestic staff.
Who thrives in this role
The person who does well here is warm without being familiar, present without being intrusive, and completely dependable. They take real pride in the vehicle and in the standard of service. They can charm a first-time visitor on the drive in from Changi and then be entirely invisible on the drive home. They keep busy without being told to. They are the calmest person in the car at 11.30pm when the day has gone sideways. And they understand that being trusted with a family's parents, children and privacy is a serious thing.
What we offer
- Competitive salary reviewed annually, with performance bonus.
- CPF contributions
- A salary set deliberately above market.
- Well-maintained luxury vehicles, meal allowance, and all work-related expenses covered.
- A comfortable, private place to wait between engagements at the residence.
- A stable, respectful, long-term position with a family that looks after its people.
