Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for a Printer Technical Technician to support installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of barcode printers and office printers for our customers. The candidate will be responsible for onsite and remote technical support, printer configuration, and ensuring printers operate efficiently with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and deploy barcode printers and office printers at customer sites.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair for printer hardware and printing issues.
  • Diagnose problems related to printer connectivity, drivers, labels, and printing quality.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of printers.
  • Support barcode label printing systems and ensure proper printer calibration.
  • Assist customers with printer setup, driver installation, and configuration.
  • Maintain service records and prepare technical reports after servicing.
  • Coordinate with vendors or internal teams for warranty support and parts replacement.
  • Provide basic training to users on printer usage and maintenance.
  • Ensure timely response and resolution to service requests.

Requirements

  • Diploma / ITE / Technical certification in IT, Electronics, or related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in printer support or IT hardware support preferred.
  • Familiar with barcode printers (e.g. Zebra, Chainway, Honeywell) and office printers (HP, Canon, Brother etc.) is an advantage.
  • Experience with barcode label software (BarTender, NiceLabel etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of Windows OS, printer drivers, and network configuration.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to travel to customer sites within Singapore when required.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.

Preferred Skills (Optional)

  • Experience with barcode label software (e.g. BarTender, NiceLabel) is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, IP configuration).
  • Good technical hands-on skills with hardware installation and troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting or assisting in other technical projects such as RFID systems, access control, turnstile systems, or related hardware deployments will be an added advantage.
  • Willingness to learn and support new technologies or related projects when required.

Working Conditions

  • Based in Singapore.
  • May require onsite support at customer offices, warehouses, or retail outlets.
  • Standard office hours with occasional urgent support when needed.
