This is a technical and client-facing position requiring strong technical safety expertise combined with project leadership, commercial awareness and the ability to develop and maintain trusted client relationships.
You will lead complex technical safety studies and multidisciplinary projects for clients across industries including Oil& Gas, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, LNG and emerging/clean energy sectors. In addition to technical delivery, you will support the continued growth of the business through client management, business development and preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver technical safety studies including QRA, FERA, Building Risk Assessments, Facility Siting Studies, Fire & Gas Mapping, EERA, ESSA and Safety Cases.
- Facilitate hazard identification and risk assessment workshops including HAZID, HAZOP and LOPA where required.
- Manage projects from proposal through to successful completion, ensuring quality, schedule and budget objectives are achieved.
- Act as the primary technical interface with clients, building strong long-term relationships and providing trusted technical advice.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals and support tender submissions.
- Identify new business opportunities and contribute to the growth of Technical Safety services.
- Review and provide technical guidance on reports, methodologies and deliverables prepared by other engineers.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers within the team.
- Support continuous improvement of technical standards, methodologies and work processes.
Requirements
- Strong experience in consequence modelling and quantitative risk assessment using industry software such as DNV Phast/Safeti, FLACS or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical safety projects and managing client relationships.
- Experience preparing technical and commercial proposals.
- Excellent communication, report writing and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated with strong leadership, project management and problem-solving skills.
- Professional engineering registration or membership of a recognised engineering institution is advantageous.
