We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead high-impact modernisation initiatives, to deliver scalable solutions while building and mentoring strong in-house teams for lasting transformation across Singapore.
Mandatory Skill-set
- Must have 10+ years of experience working in multi-team development environments, with progression into an Architect role;
- Adaptable, with experience across industries including in-house development, consulting, and the public sector;
- Curious and solution-oriented, with the ability to balance building things right with building the right things;
- Committed to mentoring and developing future technical leaders, fostering a culture of continuous learning;
- Strong communicator and collaborator, able to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively, and a firm believer in cross-team collaboration over silos.
Desired Skill-set
- Strong system design and architecture skills, with experience delivering scalable solutions in complex environments;
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a passion for mentoring teams and driving engineering best practices.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with partners to understand problems and design practical solutions, whether building from scratch or improving existing systems;
- Take on complex, high-impact challenges at a national level, finding smarter ways to improve how government services work;
- Promote strong engineering practices by encouraging the use of standards, good design, and continuous improvement across teams;
- Act as a lead architect, working with government and industry teams to turn ideas into real, working solutions and ensuring successful delivery;
- Build and mentor engineering teams within agencies, helping them grow their skills and adopt best practices;
- Create simple, consistent approaches for discovery, assessment, and solution design based on proven industry methods.
