Job overview:
As the Principal / Senior Engineer, this position is responsible for HVAC System to support the normal operation of the general Facilities and Utilities equipment of the entire site, including formulating relevant procedures, rationally arranging system operation, and meeting reliability goals. Responsible for the day to day operation, maintenance and reliability program of HVAC system and other utility system that is connected to HVAC.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design (water and air side) and installation of HVAC System as part of green field project startup.
- During project phase, the individual is expected to be actively involved and at times doing multiple roles to support the overall success of the green field project startup.
- Responsible for leading the testing, commissioning and qualification of HVAC System
- Responsible for leading the site and routine operation/maintenance of HVAC System. Be the subject matter expert representing the site.
- Responsible for facilities management of Cleanroom.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of effective and efficient maintenance program. This includes preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance and spare parts strategy.
- Responsible for leading an investigation and root cause analysis of HVAC System. Identifying effective corrective and preventive action plan.
- Responsible for change control management of HVAC System.
- Responsible for reviewing and updating site operating procedures for HVAC System.
- Responsible for initiating and implementing engineering projects that will maximize efficiency and reliability.
- Responsible for updating GMP related drawings, managing related technical documents and operation records, reviewing and updating each year, and meeting the requirements of customer quality audits and HSA, FDA and EU audits.
- Responsible for the formulation and implementation of annual and monthly operations and maintenance plans for HVAC System and related document records to ensure timely updates, completeness and effectiveness of the maintenance program.
- Act as a Site Energy Manager or a back-up of the appointed Energy Manager. Responsible for NEA authorities submission (ECA & ENMS)
- Participate in the renovation project of general facilities system, on-site construction quality control and acceptance, to ensure compliance with relevant GMP laws and regulations and Energy Monitoring System requirements.
- Control and reduce consumption of water, electricity and steam to meet energy saving requirements.
- Responsible for on-site 5S improvement and EHS requirements.
- Manage, nurture and guide subordinate employees, and conduct effective assessments.
- Build a high-efficiency team and bring out the initiative, enthusiasm and creativity of each team member.
- Effective inter-departmental communication and collaboration.
- Cultivate and train subordinate employees to improve work skills and work efficiency.
- Other work arranged by the section head, Utilities Operations.
Job requirements:
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical /Chemical Engineering and other related majors, more than 8 years of relevant work experience in large pharmaceutical, petrol chemical or semiconductor cleanroom environment, and more than 10 years of relevant HVAC installation and operations experience for junior college/ polytechnic.
- Have an in depth experience for the design (water and air side) and installation of HVAC System as part of green field project startup.
- Have experience in general utilities operations and maintenance or engineering construction, have certain organizational management, communication and coordination skills, and have a strong team spirit.
- NEBB Certified and Energy Manager will be ideal
- Ideally, individual with green field startup experiences will be an advantage for this role.
- Good problem-solving skills and be able to guide and supervise the work of subordinates. Responsible for assignment, assessment and motivation of subordinate employees.
- Be able to lead by example and have a strong sense of responsibility and can withstand strong work pressure with given timeline.
- Be proficient in operating Office software, and have the ability to review construction technical plans and equipment technical negotiation.
- Have the ability to read and write in English, and be able to communicate in English fluently.
