We are looking for a hands-on Backend Technical Lead to drive the design, development,
scalability, and operational excellence of our EV Charging platform. This role will be
responsible for leading backend architecture and solution design, ensuring production
stability, and mentoring engineers across multiple backend services.
You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and infrastructure teams to build
resilient, high-performance systems that operate at scale in a cloud-native environment.
You will play a key role in shaping the backend architecture of a rapidly scaling, cloud-
native platform, working on distributed systems, real-time processing, and high-availability
services. This role offers the opportunity to influence core technical decisions, solve
complex engineering challenges, mentor a growing engineering team, and gain exposure to
device-integrated and event-driven platforms, including technologies and protocols used in
EV Charging domain.
What You'll Do
- Lead backend architecture and system & solution design
- Own end-to-end delivery of backend services
- Ensure highly availability, scalability, performance and security
- Drive engineering best practices, code quality, and design reviews
- Improve database performance, indexing strategies, query efficiency, and overall cost optimization
- Lead production incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Design and implement event-driven and asynchronous systems
- Work closely with DevOps on deployment, monitoring, and reliability
- Balance speed of delivery with long-term scalability and maintainability
- Mentor engineers and drive technical initiatives across teams
What You'll Need
- Strong experience in Golang and building production systems
- Beginner to Intermediate knowledge in Java is a plus
- Deep understanding of concurrency, memory profiling, and performance optimization
- Experience designing RESTful APIs and system to system integrations
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience with PostgreSQL or similar RDBMS
- Experience with event streaming systems (e.g., Kafka) and realtime communication protocol (e.g. WebSockets)
- Hands-on experience debugging production issues
- Familiarity with cloud-native deployments (Azure or AWS)
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong grasp of system design, scalability, and failure handling
- Experience working on high-traffic or real-time systems
- Prior experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives
- Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform or similar)
- Experience with observability tools (Datadog, Sentry or similar)
- Prior experience in EV charging, mobility, or IoT platforms is an advantage
- Familiarity with EV charging protocols such as OCPI & OCPP
- Experience working with distributed or device-integrated systems
- Exposure to payment systems, billing workflows, or transaction-heavy platforms
