[What the role is]
The Environmental Health Institute (EHI), a research arm of the National Environment Agency (NEA), conducts multi-disciplinary scientific research that translates into evidence-based public health programmes and policies. We are looking for a self-driven, committed, and inquisitive laboratory analyst to augment our research and surveillance programmes. You will be part of a dynamic team that works closely with a network of local and international collaborators to shape our public health landscape.
[What you will be working on]
The successful candidate will be part of the diagnostic team at the EHI that provides early diagnosis of vector-borne diseases. The candidate is also expected to participate in quality management initiatives and collaborate in research projects. Besides handling risk group 2 pathogens, you are required to work with risk group 3 pathogens and be involved in the risk assessment and development of protocols.
[What we are looking for]
- A good degree in Life Sciences, Biology, or related disciplines with at least 5 years of working experience in molecular biology techniques
- Experience in BSL3 laboratory is preferred
- Excellent analytical mind and systematic in planning
- Able to multitask and a team player
- Task orientated and meticulous
- Good in communication and interpersonal skills
- Willing to work after office hours and weekends if required
