Summary of the role
The Principal Functional Architect - Offer & NDC - APAC will play a pivotal role in managing pre-sales, program activities, and chargeable services related to Offer and NDC (New Distribution Capability) with airlines in the APAC region. This position involves acting as the main R&D entry point for pre-sales activities, ensuring alignment between customer and Amadeus business objectives during implementation, and coordinating the delivery of services. The role requires strong functional support and solutioning skills, as well as coordination and project management abilities to ensure the timely and quality delivery of solutions and services.
In this role you'll / Your main responsibilities
Pre-sales Activities:
- Act as the main R&D entry point for Offer & NDC expertise during pre-sales engagements with airlines.
- Handle R&D activities related to Offer and NDC requests (RFQ, RFI, RFP). Analyze airline requirements, assess solutions, and present Amadeus strategies.
- Support preparation of RFI/P responses and other customer requests.
- Provide recommendations for new solutions.
- Identify and secure necessary resources from R&D groups, coordinate all components, and produce solution-related presentations.
- Deliver high-level plans and presentations on migration and implementation activity.
- Ensure alignment between proposed solutions and commercials.
- Ensure effective handover of IT sales projects to delivery and development teams.
Coordination and Project Management:
- Manage activities to ensure they are on time, within scope, and deliver anticipated benefits.
- Provide information status to stakeholders regularly.
- Manage controls (scope, costs, timeline, risks, issues, and dependencies).
- Handle day-to-day operational aspects of activities.
- Identify and resolve Offer impacts on Amadeus Solutions and Products provided to clients.
- Optimize department or Business Domain work by documenting coherent, reusable solutions or project responses.
- Review deliverables to ensure quality and timely completion as per the plan.
Functional Support & Solutioning:
- Act as primary entry point for Offer and NDC expertise for customers and internal teams (Product, Sales & Pre-Sales, Customer Success, and Account teams).
- Analyze and capture solution elements for large cross-functional customer engagements, programs, or CPs.
- Lead Technical Scoping workshops to identify and reference all required gaps and interfaces.
- Suggest ways to improve customer satisfaction and minimize functional and technical gaps.
- Document and present solution recommendations.
- Respond to Central and/or Regional commercial organization needs in collaboration with Product Definition and Development teams.
- Coordinate approval process to ensure sign-off by customer and Amadeus groups.
Services Activities:
- Lead coordination of Chargeable Services across Offer & NDC.
- Develop services business, expand service catalog, and promote internally and with customers.
- Identify opportunities with airlines and support commercial teams until successful agreement.
- Coordinate delivery of services as Customer Success Engineer/Stream Leader. Establish governance models, align teams to adapt to fluctuating needs, and anticipate customer needs.
- Plan and track successful execution of requirements, create capacity plans, and delivery timelines.
- Provide functional support, solutioning, product adoption support, and technical consultancy.
Program Activities:
- Align customer and Amadeus visions on business objectives during the implementation phase. Coordinate R&D contributors and collaborate with program/delivery functions to achieve airline business objectives.
About Ideal Candidate
- 10 years of experience in the airline industry with exposure in several different business domains (e.g. pricing, digital, reservation)
- 10 years of education or professional experience in IT
- Highly autonomous. Ability to ramp up independently on new topics and take the lead with little guidance
- Proven record of customer, provider or external stakeholder management
- Ability to coordinate different internal collaborators or teams. Project management experience is a plus
