Job Summary
Responsible to the Project Manager and the Structural Engineering Department, overseeing the major engineering design work of the Client's Middle East Engineering Team, including but not limited to engineering planning, interface management, calculations and analysis, preparation of drawings, and technical reports.
Principal Responsibilities
- The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the geotechnical and foundation engineering design for offshore platforms, pipelines, tank foundations, and heavy industrial structures including pile foundations, shallow foundations and ground improvement systems.
- Perform structural and foundation engineering analysis using specialised software such as SACS, PLAXIS, STAAD-Pro, SAP2000, and/or AutoCad for offshore and onshore facilities.
- Participate in technical clarification meetings and prepare discipline-related proposals.
- Manage multidisciplinary engineering interfaces between FEED, EPC contractors, geotechnical consultants, and offshore installation teams to ensure constructability and design integrity.
- Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports, drawings and design documents to ensure compliance with project specifications and international engineering standards.
- Coordinate engineering activities across structural, pipeline, mechanical and construction disciplines to ensure engineering deliverables meet project technical requirements.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports, as well as other technical reports and documentation for engineering projects.
- Ensure all major engineering works comply with the Company's QHSE requirements
Minimum education and/or years of experience
- Minimum 15 years of experience in civil and structural, within offshore oil and gas or heavy industrial infrastructure projects.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or Structural Engineering
- Proven experience delivering FEED, EPC and commissioning engineering scopes
- Strong experience in pile foundation, tank foundation, offshore structures and pipeline facilities
- Candidates with experience in offshore structural and geotechnical engineering design using specialised engineering software (Grlweap, SACS, STAAD-Pro or AutoCAD).
- Familiar with the international standards for offshore structural engineering (API RP-2A, ISO 19901 and etc)
- Demonstrated experience in offshore platform structures with proven exposure to working with international oil & gas operators, engineering consultants, and EPC contractors on offshore projects.
- Only candidates with prior project experience in the Middle East will be considered.
Behavioural/Technical Skills
- Special requirement for Geotechnical and Foundation Engineer:
- Familiar with geotechnical and foundation engineering work related to offshore oil platforms.
- Strong knowledge of offshore structural and foundation engineering systems.
- Proficient in using engineering software such as Grlweap, SACS, STAAD-Pro or AutoCAD for geotechnical and foundation analysis and design.
