Brief Summary
Join a dynamic team to lead the productization of cutting-edge optical engine receiver modules, transforming prototypes into high-volume manufacturing. This role offers the opportunity to shape technical specifications and drive continuous improvements in photonic product development.
Responsibilities
- Spearhead the productization of optical engine receiver modules from prototype validation to manufacturing ramp-up. Develop and establish specifications, validation methodologies, and performance targets for receiver optical engines (OE). Execute advanced characterization for photodiodes (PDs), avalanche photodiodes (APDs), and transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs), emphasizing responsivity, bandwidth, and sensitivity. Validate passive waveguide structures, including conducting loss analysis and assessing fiber-to-waveguide coupling performance. Analyze production data to identify yield detractors and reliability risks, promoting ongoing enhancements in manufacturability. Design and implement automated test flows and data analysis workflows for comprehensive root cause analysis of performance limitations. Collaborate closely with design, packaging, and sales teams to ensure alignment of receiver capabilities with market demands and technical documentation. Provide mentorship to junior engineers, contributing to the advancement of the organization's photonic integration strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Physics, or a related field Master's or PhD in photonics or optoelectronics is preferred. A minimum of 8-12 years of relevant experience in photonics, optoelectronics, or optical communication product development. Proven experience in developing receiver subsystems or optical engines utilized in optical transceivers. Proficiency in data collection and analysis using Excel familiarity with tools like JMP, Python, C/C++, MATLAB, LabVIEW, R, or similar is advantageous. Experience with mask layout tools (e.g., KLayout, LayoutEditor) and simulation tools (e.g., Lumerical FDTD, RSoft, ZEMAX, SolidWorks) is preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities, alongside excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
