Responsibilities
- Lead the design and engineering of projects by planning and managing workflows effectively.
- Develop and maintain project-specific documentation, including drawings and technical records.
- Oversee the timely release of engineering drawings and related documents.
- Define technical specifications for equipment procurement and evaluate vendor proposals.
- Analyze and review piping and instrumentation diagrams (e.g., cooling, fuel oil systems) and HVAC schematics for detailed and production designs.
- Design and assess machinery layout arrangements to support production and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate and validate technical information from external suppliers while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Review and approve basic, detailed, and production drawings, ensuring adherence to technical requirements, installation guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in testing and trials as needed, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
- Serve as the primary liaison with owners and regulatory authorities, addressing design-related inquiries.
- Track and resolve design issues raised by stakeholders, ensuring timely follow-up and implementation.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring deliverables align with schedules and quality expectations.
- Uphold high standards of accuracy and precision in all engineering outputs.
- Guide and mentor engineering teams to support skill development and career growth.
- Promote a culture of collaboration and teamwork within the department.
- Partner with other departments to enhance coordination, quality assurance, and cost management.
Requirements
- Minimum Mechanical Engineering Degree.
- Extensive Experience in engineering design within the marine industry.
- At least 8 years of marine system piping, instrumentation, and machinery layout configurations experience.
- Well-acquainted with the detailed design processes for marine systems.
- Proven experience in leading and supervising a team of design engineers.
