Principal Architect

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Principal Architect to define and drive the architectural vision and technical strategy for large-scale, cloud-native platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing highly scalable, resilient, and secure systems while collaborating closely with engineering, product, data, and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and enforce architectural standards, principles, and best practices across platforms and services.
• Design scalable, distributed, event-driven, and microservices-based systems.
• Drive technical strategy, architecture reviews, and engineering excellence.
• Ensure high availability, performance, fault tolerance, and security of mission-critical applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology initiatives with business goals.
• Mentor engineering teams and provide technical leadership across the organization.
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies, frameworks, and tools.
• Establish API design standards, governance, and security practices.
• Lead architecture and design decisions for complex products and platforms.

Required Skills & Experience

• BE/MS in Computer Science or a related field.
• 12–15 years of software engineering experience with significant time in architect-level roles.
• Strong expertise in at least two backend technologies such as Java, Node.js, Python, or Go.
• Deep understanding of frameworks such as Spring Boot, Express.js, Django, or equivalent.
• Extensive experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, database design, and performance optimization.
• Expertise in API design, scalability, reliability, and security best practices.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and modern DevOps practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Generative AI technologies and LLM ecosystems.
• Knowledge of OpenAI, Anthropic, LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Understanding of prompt engineering, model evaluation, fine-tuning, and scalable AI deployments.
• Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and mentoring abilities.
