About the role

We're seeking a strategic, curious, and collaborative Principal Advisor, Innovation Strategy to help shape and align our innovation portfolio with both Group and Product Group (PG) strategies. This is a high-impact role at the centre of our innovation ecosystem, where you'll influence how we prioritise, evaluate, and deliver innovation across the business.

Reporting to the Head of Innovation Office, you'll work closely with Group Strategy, PG leaders, and Innovation teams to ensure our portfolio targets the right value pockets and aligns with broader business objectives. From strategic planning sessions to shaping how we invest in research, partnerships, and internal capabilities, you'll help connect the dots and drive clarity.

This role is ideal for someone with a background in strategy, finance, or management consulting, who thrives in ambiguity, can simplify complexity, and enjoys working across diverse stakeholders to influence outcomes.

What you'll bring

• Proven experience in corporate strategy, innovation, finance, or management consulting.
• Strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills, including with senior leaders.
• Ability to evaluate and prioritise innovation opportunities across multiple dimensions (strategic fit, financial value, resource allocation).
• A strategic thinker who can connect the dots across Group and PG strategies, and translate insights into action.
• High curiosity and adaptability-able to learn quickly, ask the right questions, and navigate complex environments.
• Excellent communication skills-able to distil complex ideas into clear, compelling narratives.
• Experience working in agile, fast-paced environments, with a flexible and collaborative mindset.
• Comfort working with varying levels of influence-from direct control over shared resources to advisory influence over PG decision-making.
• A passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement, with a focus on impact and alignment.
