We are an IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) World School, a Cambridge International School and an IBDP School. All teaching positions require a high proficiency in spoken and written English, a degree, teaching qualifications and ICT literacy.

Overall Responsibilities:
Programme Delivery:
- Implement the EAL program in alignment with curriculum standards, ensuring it meets student language development needs.
- Collaborate with the Literacy Coordinator to develop effective strategies for teaching and assessing various writing genres.
- Create and use EAL resource kits and lesson plans to support student learning.
- Set termly language proficiency targets for EAL students and communicate progress to parents through PTCs and reports.
- Follow and implement student support plans, making accommodations and modifications as required, with regular check-ins with the HOD.
Assessment:
- Assess and track student language proficiency progress in reading, writing, listening, and speaking through regular assessments.
- Evaluate the language proficiency of prospective EAL students when requested.
- Support students in improving their performance on GL assessments and track individual progress.
Professional Development & Meetings:
- Attend all required professional development sessions as requested by SLT.
- Actively participate in grade-level and department meetings, contributing resources and ideas.
Community Involvement & Extracurriculars:
- Collaborate with colleagues within the department to support student learning.
- Participate in at least one event committee, contributing to events such as International Day or cultural celebrations.
- Engage in extracurricular activities (CCAs) as per interest or when required.
- Support the extra-curricular life of EC/PS, including contributing to competitions, field trips and other school events.
Parent & Student Communication:
- Provide weekly updates on student progress via Toddle, email, or other platforms.
- Respond to parent queries within one working day and escalate urgent issues when necessary.
- Maintain positive relationships with parents through effective communication and support.
- Organise or contribute to the organisation of at least one annual Parent Partnership Series (PPS) workshop to engage families in EAL learning.
Student Wellbeing & Safety:
- Adhere to all safeguarding, child protection, emergency, and health & safety policies.
- Maintain an inclusive, safe, and engaging EAL learning environment.
Promote efficient resource usage, including paper, electricity, and water, and encourage recycling.
Other Responsibilities:
- Actively promote the IB attributes and attitudes of the IB Leaner Profile and the values of the School.
- Contribute to school marketing efforts by providing success stories, student progress highlights, and classroom photos/videos when requested.
- Support school presentations or workshops as needed to promote EAL programs.
- Maintain accurate and secure records of EAL students, ensuring data privacy compliance.
- Support accreditation and audit processes as required by the school.
- Attend curriculum evenings, information evenings, and performances as required.
- Fulfil any other reasonable duties as per the Assistant Principal's (Head of EC/PS) and the Head of School's direction in line with the position.
- Requirements:
- Minimum two (2) years or more relevant full-time teaching experience as a qualified teacher.
- Candidate must at least possess Bachelor's degree and a Professional Degree in Teaching/Teaching qualification certificates (PGDE, PGCE, PGCEi, NIE Diploma)/Valid Teacher License/QTS.
- Must have strong knowledge and experience of teaching English as an additional language (EAL) for Primary.
- Experience in an international school environment (preferred).
- A passionate educator with the ability to deliver student-centred, inquiry based learning.
