You will be responsible for performing actuarial pricing exercises and supporting the deal underwriter in preparing responses to tenders. This typically involves carrying out actuarial analyses, proposing and owning assumptions, and providing technical expertise.
In detail your responsibilities will include:
- Performing and documenting the pricing of quotes across responsible markets while ensuring compliance to internal standards, thorough risk assessment and application of best practice
- Performing peer review on quotations to ensure accuracy of financial results
- Collaborating with a cross-functional team of professionals from client markets and underwriting towards assessing the risks associated with a particular opportunity and ensure the sustainability of the business written
- Contributing to the development of market specific reinsurance solutions and products
- Developing, enhancing and maintaining pricing benchmarks, tools and efficient methods of carrying out existing processes.
Your profile
You bring around 6 years of experience in life (re)insurance (preferably in pricing/data analytics) and recently /nearly qualified Life Actuary (FIA or equivalent). Furthermore, your profile is surrounded by the following skills and knowledge:
- Ability to analyse big data sets, identify key insights and provide recommendations. Critical Illness pricing experience is a plus
- Proficiency in programming languages and actuarial software (R/Python/Axis/Prophet) is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an effective way
- Self-motivated, holds oneself accountable and takes ownership for problem resolution, able to prioritize under pressure of competing deadlines
