Job Purpose:

The President, Asia & Oceania, provides overall leadership and strategic direction for Kumon's operations across the region.

This role is responsible for driving sustainable growth, ensuring alignment with global headquarters, and overseeing the performance, governance, and development of country operations across Asia & Oceania.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute regional strategies to achieve business growth and market expansion
  • Lead and guide country management teams to deliver operational and financial targets
  • Oversee governance, compliance, and risk management across all regional entities
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement across markets
  • Strengthen leadership capability and succession pipelines across the region
  • Collaborate closely with Kumon Institute of Education (Japan HQ) and represent the region in global forums
  • Lead regional initiatives to enhance collaboration, standardization, and business performance

Key Success Indicators:

  • Achievement of regional revenue, centre growth, and enrolment targets
  • Strong governance and compliance outcomes across all markets
  • Improved country performance and operational efficiency
  • Strength of leadership pipeline and succession readiness across KAO
  • Successful execution of regional strategic and transformation initiatives
  • High level of alignment with global strategy and stakeholder expectations

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • High proficiency in Japanese (preferably JLPT N1 level or near-native)
  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen
  • Leadership and people development capability
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to lead in a complex, multicultural environment

Credentials and Experience:

  • A bachelor's Degree from a recognized institution in any discipline
  • Proven senior leadership experience (e.g. President / CEO / Regional Head)
  • Track record in managing multi-country operations in a regional or global organization

Special Requirements:

  • Regional travel required
  • Work closely with global headquarters and country leadership teams
