Preschool Educator
Salary: $3500 - $4800
Job scope:
- Deliver lessons in line with the school's established policies and teaching guidelines.
- Apply a range of appropriate teaching and caring approaches to ensure high-quality learning takes place.
- Encourage students to care for their surroundings and to treat others with respect, supporting a positive and nurturing school community.
- Oversee all classroom operations and maintain a clean, organised and well-managed learning space.
- Create engaging classroom environment that encourages students to learn independently.
- Maintain appropriate records of each student's progress/achievement and provide reports when required.
- Work closely with the principal and teaching team to develop effective assessment methods and moderation portfolio.
- Foster positive relationships with parents of children under your care.
- Prepare and submit lesson plans that outline clear learning goals, differentiated activities, support for special needs, enrichment tasks and assessment methods, to the Principal or designated officer.
- Maintain professional conversations with colleagues about students and school matters.
- Lead, motivate and monitor assistant teachers to ensure they complete their responsibilities.
- Contribute to the overall pastoral care, wellbeing, safety and behaviour management of all students, especially those within your designated class group.
- Respect and value each child's social, cultural and religious background and provides mutual respect and tolerance.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education (Teaching) or its equivalent with 5 GCE O Levels with English at Grade B4.
- Minimum 2 years teaching experience in a pre-school environment.
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, inquiry-based learning approaches.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
