The Pre-sales Engineer / Applications Engineer is based at the Singapore regional headquarters of ZwickRoell. She/He is responsible for providing technical and commercial consultation in the sales of materials testing equipment of the ZwickRoell Group. Focused on a specific industry, she/he owns the overall responsibility to support sales channels in Southeast Asia, Taiwan, Korea and Australasia. The Pre-sales Engineer / Applications Engineer supports the ZwickRoell sales channels in the complete sales and marketing process according to jointly agreed targets and measures. She/He takes the long-term view to actively ensure the sustainable mid- to long-term growth of the sales channels, increase in market share and, above all, a high level of customer satisfaction. The Pre-sales Engineer / Applications Engineer reports to the Regional Sales Manager of ZwickRoell in Singapore.
Job Description
- You are the central point of contact and advise our sales channels aswell as our existing & new customers on suitable solutions for materials testing systems buildingthe commercial & technical bridge between our internal & external world.
- You will be responsible for the project management in the pre-sales phase, starting from thepreparation of the offer to the final customer acceptance.
- You support & challenge our sales counterparts in finding and qualifying leads, active opportunity management by utilizing our international CRM system as well as Sales Tools & Strategies, helping to win orders, assuring the needs & expectations of the customers are professionally met.
- Consult customers via virtual media and in-person meetings to better understand requirements, to provide appropriate solutions and carry out in-depth demonstrations with our machines and testXpert software.
- Liaise with producing company counterparts to address complex technical, commercial and logistical requirements from pre-sales to delivery and invoicing
- Support in final negotiation processes to provide key customer value propositions
- Develop networking within the region and with corresponding industry specialists in other regions to establish strategic partnerships with key customers and industry leaders.
- Conduct technical and application seminars in coordination with partners and ZwickRoell experts.
- With your expertise, you will further coach and onboard our sales teams in the region on new products & services based on comprehensive sales & marketing tools & documents.
- Organize regular meetings and training with our sales channels by offering and utilizing the state-of-the-art infrastructure of ZwickRoell in Singapore as well as our global ZwickRoell locations and network.
- Identify new testing requirements by existing and potential customers for further analysis and cross-regional development of the application.
- Research, understand and share major local competitor situation and advise sales strategies accordingly.
- You contribute that we remain innovative and continue to grow, you provide valuable impulses
- and feedback to our marketing, product development and industry management departments.
- The Pre-sales Engineer / Applications Engineer is responsible to actively manage and coordinate regional marketing activities, including lead finding activities and brand awareness.
- You establish & maintain close networks & coordination with our sales organization & partners
- in Southeast Asia as well as internationally.
- Review and clarify received orders on technical and commercial aspects with clear handover documentation for detailed order processing
- Provide continuous support in the delivery process to ensure logistics of the machine are optimal for a premium customer experience, handling deviations in delivery with appropriate communication and solutions until the final acceptance test is achieved.
- The Pre-sales Engineer / Applications Engineer is an active part in the planning process of ZRSG in contributing to the forecast order entry monthly/annually.
Job Requirements
- Minimum bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
- Minimum 3 years experience in sales or marketing in the field of materials testing machines or laboratory testing equipment.
- Knowledge in Southeast Asian markets, preferably in the fields of metallic, polymer or composite materials, or medical/pharmaceutical or automotive components.
- Experience in a leading CRM system is a must, preferably Microsoft Dynamics or IFS Cloud.
- Extensive knowledge of materials testing applications
- Analytical and target-driven personality
- Superior communication, presentation and project management skills
- Self-motivated professional with strong work ethics
- Ability to understand complex technical issues quickly and communicate them in generally comprehensive way
- Passionate customer orientation
- High level of mobility and personal responsibility
- Intercultural competence
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is a must
- 20%-30% travel within the Asian region and Germany/Austria
