Pre-Sales Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Cloud Pre-Sales Engineer to support our sales and technical teams in delivering public cloud solutions, primarily on AWS. The successful candidate will work closely with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, design suitable cloud architectures, and provide technical support throughout the solution lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Work closely with the sales team to understand customer needs and provide appropriate AWS-based solutions and architecture designs.

2. Provide remote technical support to global customers using AWS services and resolve technical issues encountered during cloud usage.

3. Develop and promote public cloud architecture standards and best practices across applications and cloud platforms.

4. Participate in troubleshooting major incidents on public cloud platforms and provide ongoing operational and technical support.

5. Support cloud deployment, migration, and optimisation projects on AWS, and resolve key technical challenges faced by customers.

6. Continuously document and summarise technical support experience and provide feedback for service and process improvement.

Requirements

1. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.

2. At least 2 years of hands-on experience in AWS or other public cloud platforms (e.g. Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud, Huawei Cloud).

3. Strong knowledge of AWS IaaS services such as VPC, EC2, and S3, with experience in designing, deploying, operating, and troubleshooting cloud environments.

4. Proficient in Linux systems administration and familiar with MySQL or NoSQL databases.

5. Able to write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (e.g. AWS CloudFormation templates).

6. Knowledge of scripting (e.g. Shell) and at least one programming language such as Java or Python.

7. Good hands-on technical capability with the ability to design suitable cloud migration strategies and technical solutions.

8. AWS certifications (e.g. Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional) or other major cloud vendor certifications will be an advantage. Experience in cloud migration projects is a plus.

9. Proficient in English for daily work communication. Proficiency in Mandarin (spoken and written) is required to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients, candidates, and business stakeholders and to handle documentation in Chinese.
