  • This position is forSchool of Computing and Information Systems (SCIS).
  • Liaising with industry partners to :
    • Work with anchor/industry partners to secure sponsorship for apprenticeships, projects, enrichment workshops, awards and scholarships.
    • Work with anchor/industry partners to arrange for student engagement activities including recruitment talks, enrichment workshops, networking opportunities and industry talks.
    • Provide feedback on the programme's relevance with new trends and changes, and new skills required.
    • Collaborate with SMU Office of Advancement to source for potential scholarships, study awards and explore other forms of sponsorship with anchor partners or other potential sponsor companies.
    • Maintain and renew existing MOUs with current anchor partner companies (which provide apprenticeship places for students),
    • Source for new anchor partner companies for new MOUs according to needs of the programme.
  • Managing and supporting apprenticeship course (SE401)
    • Develop and manage course design documents, mentorship guidelines and propose changes to the apprenticeship course when required.
    • Work with the Programme Manager, DKHMCC and Registrar's Office to ensure smooth administration of the course.
    • Conduct annual briefings to students regarding the apprenticeship.
    • Act as the point of contact for both students and mentors from sponsoring organisations.
    • Coach students in finding an apprenticeship which matches their learning objectives and monitor the placement process.
    • Visit students and monitor their fortnightly reflection journals during their apprenticeship.
    • Investigate any complaints or difficulties encountered by students and/or sponsoring organisations and ensure that appropriate action(s) are taken.
    • Coordinate and grade students apprenticeship deliverables and final presentations.
    • Keep track of every single student's apprenticeship progress and completion.
    • Conduct research to obtain statistics and feedback from the industry pertaining to apprenticeship, post-graduation SE job opportunities for future planning.
    • Gather industry feedback on the current skill sets required for students to successfully complete their apprenticeships, as an important input for SE WSDeg curriculum reviews.
  • Other marketing and administrative tasks
    • Any other marketing and administrative duties related to the SE WSDeg as and when required including but not limited to providing support during SMU Open House and giving outreach talks to potential students etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT (CS/IS/Engineering) with at least 5 years of IT professional experience.
  • Pleasant personality with excellent interpersonal oral and written communication.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Shows initiative, reliable, resourceful and able to work independently.
  • Strong work ethics.
  • A good team player.
