About The Team
The Brand Marketing team drives the development and execution of various brand campaigns across Shopee markets. The team is responsible for shaping Shopee's brand positioning, strengthening consumer affinity, and ensuring consistent messaging across countries.
The Public Relations (PR) & Branding Associate sits within the team, and will be involved in PR work that complements the integrated marketing initiatives spanning offline, social, partnership and in-app experiences. This role calls for a passion for the tech industry, communications, as well as familiarity with the media landscapes in which the company operates. You will be supporting the planning and driving of regional initiatives, as well as guiding country teams to develop core narratives. You will also be working cross-functionally with various regional and local stakeholders from PR, marketing, operations and beyond.
As such, developing an in-depth understanding of Shopee's dynamic business is crucial so that you can amplify our core messaging to external audiences via creative and engaging strategies.
Job Description
- Good Writing Skills: Ability to craft compelling press releases, media story pitches, articles, and speeches that resonate with different target audiences.
- Strong Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Capable of building rapport with internal stakeholders and external partners effortlessly.
- Interest in brand marketing: Support other team members in executing marketing activations across various offline/online channels.
- Comfortable with reporting work: Collect, analyse, and interpret marketing data from multiple sources to determine campaign effectiveness and overall business performance.
- Detail-Oriented: Strong focus on accuracy and meticulous timeline management in a deadline-driven environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and above in any field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public relations, corp/marketing communication, or related field
- Experience working as part of a PR team on the brand side is highly preferred, with a solid foundation in developing communication strategies
- Deep understanding of the online & digital media ecosystem (news publishers, social media algorithms, and digital news cycles)
- Comfortable collaborating with multiple stakeholders, eg. media partners, external agencies, local teams
- Detail-oriented, data-driven, and with a strong analytical mindset for problem-solving
- Experience and/or interest in brand marketing, as this will be a hybrid role
- Open to occasional business travels
