Power Trader
Our client is a boutique hedge fund specialising in Power.
Power Trader responsibilities;
- The core responsibility of a Japan Power Trader is to construct trading strategies, take positions and manage exposures from both traded strategies and across the asset portfolio based on analysis of fundamental, weather and technical market conditions across multiple markets
- Ability to spot distortions between geographies, tenors, and generation type.
- Understand and communicate risks being taken
- Trades Power requirements necessary to meet the demand of the client's customer base
Power Trader experience required;
- Understanding of Japanese Power market rules and regulations, with a strong understanding of Quantitative Analytics
- Transacts in forward, day-ahead, and real-time markets, interacting with bilateral counterparties and electronic trading platforms
- Products transacted include spot, forwards, index, and options
- Strong grasp of market and weather fundamentals, and willingness to work with the fundamental team to drive model development
