Power Trader (Japan & Singapore Market) - Energy Trading Company

Description

We are partnering with a global energy company specialising in the trading and distribution of oil and gas, which is looking for an experienced Power Trader to expand its power trading business from its Singapore office.

Role

Reporting to Head of Power Trading. The role will be accountable for driving value trading and optimisation across the Japan and Singapore energy markets, with a focus on power and fuels, including exploring power tolling arrangements with downstream assets and deploying fundamental and technical-based trading strategies. The position will support customer flow and originated activities, develop proprietary trading strategies with a particular emphasis on short-term Japan and Singapore power markets, and provide direction and support to the origination team in identifying, structuring, and quoting power trading opportunities.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Business or a related discipline and have at least 2 years of power trading experience, with Japan power market experience being essential and Singapore power market exposure highly advantageous. The candidate should possess strong analytical capabilities, a proven ability to generate trading results in energy markets, and demonstrate strong commercial acumen, entrepreneurial drive, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced trading environment.
