About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Power Electronics Research Engineer to join our Cloud Infrastructure Platform and Solutions (CIPS) Research Team. This role is ideal for early‑career engineers with up to 3 years of experience who are eager to build strong fundamentals in power electronics research and development.
You will work closely with senior researchers and engineers on early‑stage research and proof‑of‑concept projects that support the future of data centre, cloud, and AI infrastructure technology. This role offers structured mentorship, hands‑on lab exposure, andthe opportunity to develop into a specialist or technical leader over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Research & Learning
- Conduct literature reviews and technical studies on power electronics topologies, components, and control concepts.
- Learn and explore emerging technologies related to data centre and cloud power systems.
- Concept Development
- Assist in identifying technical challenges, future needs, and market opportunities.
- Support the generation and evaluation of multiple design concepts under guidance from senior engineers. - Design & Simulation
- Create circuit designs an system block diagramsPerform simulations using tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, LTspice, or Python to validate concepts. - Prototyping & Testing
- Support the construction of proof‑of‑concept hardware prototypes.
- Perform lab testing using oscilloscopes, electronic loads, and power analysers.
- Assist in debugging and performance evaluation. - Documentation & Communication
- Contribute to technical reports, design documentation, and performance summaries.
- Support patent disclosures and internal knowledge sharing activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree (or near completion) in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
- 0-3 years of experience in power electronics, hardware design, or related engineering roles.
- Basic understanding of power electronic architectures such as AC/DC and DC/DC converters.
- Exposure to schematic design, datasheets, and PCB layouts (academic or industry projects welcome).
- Familiarity with simulation tools (MATLAB, Simulink, LTspice, or similar).
- Interest in wide‑bandgap devices (SiC / GaN), magnetics, EMI, or thermal design is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Willingness to learn, strong problem‑solving skills, and good communication abilities.
- Hands‑on mindset with enthusiasm for laboratory work and experimentation.
- Fresh graduates with strong project or research experience are encouraged to apply.
