Role Overview
ThePortfolio Associatewill support portfolio operations, investor reporting, and internal analysis activities. This role works closely with senior stakeholders and portfolio companies, assisting with data collection, organization, and synthesis to support decision-making and reporting needs.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio & Operations Support
- Attend portfolio company meetings and support note-taking and follow-up summaries.
- Track portfolio updates, metrics, and documentation using tools such as Airtable, Notion, and shared drives.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date portfolio records.
Investor Reporting Support
- Support quarterly investor reporting by collecting financial and operational data from portfolio companies.
- Update dashboards, trackers, and basic performance reports.
- Assist in drafting written summaries and commentary with guidance from senior team members.
- Support basic scenario or performance analysis as required.
Reporting & Strategic Support
- Assist in preparing materials for internal reviews and annual meetings.
- Compile company summaries, metrics, and qualitative updates.
- Support synthesis of trends and insights across the portfolio.
Transaction & Documentation Support
- Assist with maintaining data rooms and documentation for secondary or special transactions.
- Coordinate requests from internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Support basic financial modeling and memo preparation as needed.
Research & Ad-hoc Support
- Conduct company, market, and competitor research.
- Support early-stage screening and other operational tasks as required.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 23 years of experiencein consulting, finance, venture capital, private equity, or startup operations.
- Basic to intermediate financial skills (P&Ls, spreadsheets, dashboards).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Comfortable handling confidential information.
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-Have
- Exposure to investor reporting or portfolio management.
- Familiarity with tools such as Airtable, Notion, Excel, or Google Sheets.
- Experience working with startups or remote teams.
- Basic understanding of cap tables or financial models.
