We are seeking an experienced Port Operations Manager to lead, optimise, and oversee large-scale operational activities within a fast-paced port environment. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with deep expertise in lashing, container-handling workflows, manpower deployment, and safety compliance.
Lead and manage 150-200 employees, including lashing teams, supervisors, and ground crew.
Oversee end-to-end port operations involving vessel lashing/unlashing, container movement, and berth operations.
Ensure strict compliance with PSA/port authority regulations, workplace safety guidelines, and operational SOPs.
Drive operational efficiency through strategic manpower planning, resource allocation, shift management, and productivity tracking.
Monitor vessel turnaround times and address operational bottlenecks to ensure smooth and timely completion of tasks.
Conduct regular audits of lashing procedures, equipment readiness, safety practices, and operational performance.
Collaborate closely with PSA officers, shipping lines, contractors, and internal departments to ensure seamless operational flow.
Lead training, development, and performance management of supervisors and lashing teams.
Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives in automation, digitalisation, and port-process enhancements.
Minimum 8 years of experience in port operations, preferably with exposure to PSA terminals.
Strong technical knowledge in lashing operations, container-handling equipment, and port safety protocols.
Proven track record in leading large teams (150-200 personnel) in a high-pressure operational environment.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on efficiency and safety.
Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
