Summary
Lead strategic communication efforts to shape and strengthen public narratives around policies and organisational priorities. The role will drive policy communication strategies, media intelligence and stakeholder engagement while proactively identifying emerging issues and reputational risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute communication strategies for policy initiatives and organisational priorities.
- Translate complex policies and business topics into clear and impactful narratives for different audiences.
- Conduct media monitoring, sentiment analysis and trend assessments to identify emerging risks, opportunities and stakeholder concerns.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on media coverage, public sentiment and communication effectiveness.
- Partner with business and leadership stakeholders on communication positioning and issue management.
- Support media engagements, stakeholder communications and crisis or sensitive issue management.
- Develop communication materials including key messages, press releases, speeches and briefing materials.
Requirements
- Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Policy, Public Relations or related disciplines.
- 6–10 years of experience in policy communications, strategic communications, public affairs or corporate communications.
- Strong experience in media analysis, sentiment monitoring and issue identification.
- Strong ability to simplify complex policy or regulatory topics into clear narratives.
- Experience managing sensitive or high-profile issues within heavily scrutinised environments is preferred.
- Candidates from economic agencies, stat boards, government agencies or regulated industries will be advantageous.
- Candidates with journalism backgrounds who have moved into corporate or policy communications are welcome.
