Job Description

  • Ensure that PMS is kept up to date with minimum overdue items especially concentrating on safety critical and business critical items and spares. Ensure the KPIs set in SMS & department plan for the overdue items & overdue jobs are strictly followed.
  • Train the Officers and Engineers on the PMS & procurement functions & guide the PMS superintendents on their roles and functions.
  • Advise HQ and Regional Technical Managers on the improvements required in PMS and thus implement them.
  • Issue the NCRs to the vessels officers or engineers if PMS is not kept within the standards, keeping Regional technical managers informed.
  • To check the critical spare parts inventories are maintained on board and sufficient spare are available. If any additional spares are required, it be recommended by the Port Engineer in an email to Regional Technical Manager and also keep Head of Technical informed.
  • Ensure that running hours sheet for engines are kept up to date and submitted to technical secretary, Regional technical managers and Head of technical on monthly basis. This will be verified in conjunction with engine overhaul reports that should be updated in TMM, seeking the vessel or regional technical assistance that these records are kept updated. Submit the engine overhauling report to technical secretary for filing once running hours are updated.
  • Visit the company managed vessels as necessary for ongoing training and implementation of PMS &other procurement functions.
  • Ensure that all monthly technical reports for all company managed vessels are attached in PMS module, that included the Lubeoil sample external lab report, follow the SMS interval criteria to send these reports to lab, identified caution items should have close out action plan in the PMS module. Issue NCR to vessel Chief Engineer if this is not followed with information shared with Regional technical manager/superintendent for action.
  • Participate in all audits, client inspections and any other oil major requirements concerning PMS, ensuring vessel is ready as per international oil major standards.
  • Review the SMS for maintenance standards and improve the quality and adherence onboard.
  • Ensure the value of Business-Critical spares kept in the warehouse in accounted for on 6 monthly basis across all business units (SBUs) and keep the KPI and cost of these equipment as per requirement of Global Head of Technical and business needs. Ensure that warehouse inventory is kept up-to-date and within strict compliance &discipline with proper logs for inventory movement and keeping accounts team up to date.
  • Insure that docking function, warehousing function, project management functions & accounting functions are working either in PMS module or other platforms adopted by the company.
  • Ensure PMS & procurement modules cost are maintained & negotiated on yearly basis.
  • Management reserves the right to amend, assign, or reassign duties and responsibilities as required to meet business and operational needs.

Qualifications

  • Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer's Certificate of Competency or sailing experience as engineer onboard with 10 years of experience ashore on PMS functions.
  • Possess a high level of computer literacy and typing skills
  • Good communicator and team player
  • Ability to perform ad-hoc tasks without supervision.
