Plumber:
Key Responsibilities
- Installation: Installing pipes, fittings, valves, and fixtures (toilets, showers, sinks) for water, heating, and drainage.
- Repair & Maintenance: Diagnosing, repairing, and replacing broken parts, such as leaky pipes, clogged drains, and malfunctioning water heaters.
- System Testing: Inspecting and testing plumbing systems for leaks, pressure, and functionality.
- Blueprint Reading: Reading, interpreting, and following blueprints and building plans to determine pipe layout.
- Tool Usage: Using, cleaning, and maintaining tools such as pipe cutters, welders, and wrenches.
- Compliance: Ensuring all work adheres to local, state, and national building codes and regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: High school diploma, trade school, or work experience
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding plumbing systems.
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift heavy materials and work in tight, uncomfortable spaces.
- Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic skills for finding the source of leaks or blockages.
- Communication: Ability to explain issues and repairs to clients.
