Your Job
We are looking for a Plating Engineer to develop and optimize plating processes that meet customer requirements while improving efficiency and cost. This role plays a key part in new product introduction (NPI), ensuring manufacturability and delivering high-quality plating solutions.
Our Team
You will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering Development team under the Plating ME section, working closely with cross-functional teams including design, product management, automation, and quality.
What You Will Do
- Develop and optimize plating process engineering to meet customer quality requirements while driving cost-effective and high-efficiency production solutions
- Lead plating-related activities in New Product Introduction (NPI), including process strategy development and implementation
- Evaluate and compare plating process strategies during new project development to determine optimal solutions with cross-functional teams
- Integrate Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles into plating process design to ensure manufacturability and scalability
- Assess plating feasibility of product designs and proactively address manufacturing constraints
- Conduct early-stage plating process studies, identify technical risks, and implement effective mitigation actions
- Collaborate closely with design, manufacturing, automation, and other engineering teams to ensure smooth project execution
- Support plating manufacturing engineering activities, including process setup, validation, and continuous improvement
- Participate in the design and development of new tooling for both existing and new products, including 3D equipment design where applicable
- Apply chemical engineering principles to improve plating processes, controls, and material performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve plating-related production and quality issues using a systematic approach with internal and external stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plating quality, yield, and operational efficiency
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related discipline
- Experience in reel-to-reel electroplating for connectors
- Hands-on experience in plating, laboratory, or manufacturing environment
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams
What Will Put You Ahead
- Degree in Electrochemistry, Materials Science, or Engineering
- Experience in connector plating processes and applications
- Knowledge of plating equipment design and CAD tools (2D/3D)
- 3+ years of experience in connector manufacturing or plating-related industry
- Strong technical expertise in plating processes and materials
