PLATFORM ENGINEER

Responsibilities

• Design and build developer platform capabilities and golden paths to improve consistency, quality, scalability, and engineering productivity.
• Develop and maintain cloud-native applications and infrastructure solutions using modern software engineering practices.
• Drive and review technical architecture and system design, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices.
• Promote engineering excellence through TDD, CI/CD, automation, code quality, and continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and maintain platform stability.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, product teams, business stakeholders, project managers, and other engineering teams.
• Analyse requirements, estimate effort, plan delivery timelines, and track technical progress.
• Mentor and influence engineers by promoting best practices and leading through hands-on technical contribution.
• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate technical and delivery risks while ensuring solutions meet quality and compliance standards.
• Work in Agile environments such as SAFe, Scrum, or Extreme Programming and support iterative, fast-paced delivery.

Requirements

• 3–6 years of hands-on software development experience with strong knowledge of system design and scalable architecture.
• At least 3 years of experience managing cloud environments and delivering infrastructure/platform solutions.
• Strong programming experience in Java, Spring Framework, TypeScript, and React.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, functional programming, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with HTTP, modern web application architecture, REST/API concepts, Git, and version control workflows.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automation, release management, TDD, and Continuous Delivery.
• Hands-on experience with Linux and shell scripting.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes (K8s), cloud-native technologies, and Open Policy Agent (OPA).
• Working knowledge of Kafka, messaging systems, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous processing.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, root cause analysis, and production support skills.
• Experience in stakeholder management, Agile delivery, effort estimation, and project coordination.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced, and high-pressure environments.
• Ability to independently lead technical initiatives, challenge existing approaches, and drive innovative solutions.
