Platform Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Platform Infrastructure Lead to manage and support container platforms and platform services in a production environment. You will lead a team of infrastructure engineers, ensure platform stability, handle incidents, upgrades, and disaster recovery, while working closely with application teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 4–6 Infrastructure Engineers.
• Manage and support Kubernetes and container platforms.
• Install, configure, and maintain platform components such as MongoDB, MSSQL, Nginx, Apache, IBM MQ, MQTT, and ArcGIS.
• Handle incidents, change requests, root cause analysis (RCA), and problem resolution.
• Perform platform upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Ensure system monitoring, logging, and performance optimisation.
• Maintain SOPs, runbooks, and technical documentation.
• Work with application and infrastructure teams for platform integration.
• Ensure Linux OS hardening and security compliance.
• Lead Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BCP) activities.

Required Skills

• 7–10 years of Infrastructure or Platform Operations experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker/Podman.
• Experience managing MongoDB, Microsoft SQL Server, Nginx, and Apache.
• Knowledge of messaging platforms such as IBM MQ, MQTT, or Kafka.
• Good understanding of Linux Administration and OS hardening.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, or eG Monitoring.
• Basic knowledge of networking, firewalls, and load balancers for troubleshooting.
• Experience in Government or highly regulated environments is an advantage.
