Job Summary
We are seeking a Platform and Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, containerisation, and open-source automation tools. You will play a key role in streamlining IT operations, accelerating deployment lifecycles, and enabling platform scalability across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud-native environments.
Responsibilities
- Work with Solutions Architects, project teams, support teams, and customer IT teams to deploy and implement modern IT automation solutions.
- Collaborate with network engineering and operations teams to define automation requirements.
- Develop, test, and deploy playbooks using tools such as Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) and Terraform.
- Integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
- Document playbooks, workflows, automation processes, and reusable modules.
- Troubleshoot and support existing automation frameworks and scripts.
- Perform maintenance and support tasks, including troubleshooting, incident response, and patching.
- Write scripts and code in Python, Bash/Shell, and YAML as required.
- Support implementation and maintenance of Linux variants, open-source platforms, DevOps/Container technologies, and middleware.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in automation, infrastructure, or DevOps roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Ansible AAP, Terraform, and playbook development.
- Experience with containerisation and Kubernetes (on-prem or managed), preferably RedHat OpenShift.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, and YAML.
- Solid understanding of Linux/Unix administration and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD tools (GitHub, Jenkins, etc.), and automation best practices.
- Familiarity with YAML, Jinja2 templates, REST APIs, JSON/XML.
- Basic understanding of network architectures and configuration workflows.
- Proven experience with network automation (Cisco ACI, switches, F5, Checkpoint) is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to work independently and in teams.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred / Added Advantage
- Experience with API Gateway, service mesh, or observability tooling.
- Knowledge of security automation (e.g., CIS hardening, vulnerability scanning).
- Relevant certifications such as:
- RedHat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
- RedHat Certified Specialist in OpenShift
