Job Summary
Perform skilled tasks in removing, applying, and repairing ceramic tiles and similar materials on floors, walls, and ceilings. Prepare surfaces, mix materials, lay bricks or blocks, install safety features, and maintain clean work areas to support construction and finishing projects.
Responsibilities
- Remove, apply, and repair ceramic tiles and similar solid materials on floors, walls, and ceilings to ensure durable finishes
- Follow materials and workmanship schedules to meet project quality and timeline standards
- Lay bricks or blocks accurately to build or repair structures as required
- Mix and apply glues, cements, and grouts to bond materials securely
- Prepare cement floors, sidewalks, stairs, and curbing to provide stable, level surfaces
- Install grout around new and existing door jambs to seal and finish edges
- Apply non-skid surfaces and safety strips to enhance floor safety
- Prepare flooring surfaces properly to ensure successful installation of floor coverings
- Prepare and mix various raw materials to produce plaster for finishing work
- Hang fixtures such as pictures, paper towel holders, sharps dispensers, and soap dispensers to complete interior setups
- Repair plaster, sheetrock, and masonry surfaces to restore structural and aesthetic integrity before painting
- Remove waste and debris daily and after work completion to maintain a clean and safe work environment
