Key Responsibilities
- Execute plant biotechnology research protocols with precision, ensuring consistency and integrity of experimental outcomes
- Support the development and optimisation of gene editing and plant transformation workflows
- Conduct laboratory work including plant tissue culture, molecular biology techniques, and sample preparation
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date experimental records in line with research and compliance standards
- Monitor experimental progress, identify issues, and provide constructive feedback to improve protocols
- Collaborate with scientists and research team members to support ongoing and new projects
- Manage multiple experiments and tasks across different stages of completion
- Assist with general laboratory operations, including equipment upkeep, inventory management, and reagent preparation
Technical Exposure
- Plant tissue culture and transformation techniques
- Molecular biology methods such as PCR, qPCR, and gel electrophoresis
- Operation of laboratory equipment including centrifuges, microscopes, and particle delivery systems
- Preparation of buffers, reagents, and chemical solutions
- High-throughput sample processing and sequencing preparation
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Plant Biotechnology, Biomedical Science, or a related discipline
- Strong hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology or plant biotechnology
- High attention to detail in both experimental execution and documentation
- Ability to interpret, adapt, and execute laboratory protocols effectively
- Strong organisational and multitasking capabilities in a research setting
- Collaborative mindset with good communication skills
