Plant and Machinery Manager
We are working with an established organization in the construction machinery leasing sector to hire a Plant and Machinery Manager. This critical position is responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and operational readiness of a wide range of heavy machinery and equipment used across multiple project sites.
The successful candidate will play a strategic role in ensuring equipment efficiency, safety compliance, and cost-effective operations, while leading a team of technicians and coordinating closely with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations and maintenance of construction plant, equipment, vehicles, and tools.
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
- Ensure all equipment complies with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards and internal asset integrity protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment inventory, location, utilization, and spare parts.
- Plan and coordinate equipment mobilization and demobilization across project sites.
- Manage logistics related to equipment storage and transport, aligned with project timelines.
- Monitor and control equipment-related expenditures optimize resource allocation and asset utilization.
- Liaise and negotiate with suppliers manage budgets and procurement activities for equipment and parts.
- Lead and develop a team of mechanics and technicians through effective task delegation, performance management, and training.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior leadership on equipment status, costs, and compliance.
- Interface with clients and project teams to align expectations on equipment performance and safety standards.
- Support overseas operations when required for inspections, coordination, or troubleshooting.
- Uphold strict adherence to safety policies and procedures in all operations.
Requirements
- Diploma or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in plant and equipment management, preferably within construction or precast environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of construction machinery and maintenance practices.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel overseas when necessary.
