The Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules to ensure timely and efficient project delivery. This role works closely with the Senior Planning Engineer and Planning Manager, supporting the planning, execution, and reporting of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and control construction schedules in line with project requirements.
- Prepare, update, and revise the Master Programme and all related planning and control documents, incorporating planned activities, actual progress, revised sequencing, additional works, and approved extensions of time.
- Monitor manpower, equipment, and work progress, ensuring alignment with the approved schedule.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly manpower and equipment reports to the Client in a timely manner.
- Issue regular planning and progress updates to Construction, Engineering, and Contract teams.
- Compile, prepare, submit, and maintain Monthly Progress Reports, including site photographs and videos for documentation purposes.
- Conduct progress and delay analysis, identify potential schedule deviations, and propose mitigation measures.
- Track progress against the programme, identify critical delays, and prepare recovery schedules where required.
- Prepare substantiation records and summaries to support excusable delay claims.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in civil or building construction projects.
- Strong understanding of the full project life cycle and construction sequencing.
- Proficient in planning and scheduling software, particularly Primavera P6.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
