About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Piping Supervisor to lead and oversee all aspects of piping fabrication and installation activities on our projects. You will be a key site leader, responsible for ensuring work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. This is a hands-on supervisory role demanding strong technical knowledge and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Leadership: Directly supervise a team of fitters, welders, and tradesmen. Plan daily work assignments, manage manpower deployment, and ensure optimal productivity.
Safety & Compliance: Champion a Safety First culture. Enforce strict compliance with company safety policies, statutory regulations (including MOM, Singapore Standards), and permit-to-work systems. Conduct toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all piping fabrication (spool making) and installation works adhere to project specifications, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and relevant codes (e.g., ASME, ANSI). Oversee inspections (visual, alignment, hydrotest) and ensure proper documentation.
Planning & Coordination: Liaise with project managers, engineers, planners, and client representatives. Coordinate work with other disciplines (structural, mechanical, electrical). Monitor progress against schedules and report daily updates.
Technical Execution: Interpret technical drawings, isometrics, and specifications. Oversee material handling, cutting, fitting, welding, grinding, supports erection, and pressure testing of piping systems.
Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues on the shop floor or site promptly. Propose practical solutions for fabrication or installation challenges.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including daily work reports, manpower sheets, material usage, red-line mark-ups, and test packs.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Design, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in Singapore as a Piping Supervisor, Foreman, or similar lead role, specifically in piping fabrication and installation.
Technical Skills (Mandatory):
Proficient in reading and interpreting piping isometric drawings, GA drawings, and P&IDs.
In-depth knowledge of piping materials, components, welding procedures, and fabrication standards.
Strong understanding of Singapore's workplace safety requirements (WSH Act).
Additional Advantageous Qualifications:
Certification or proven proficiency in AutoCAD for basic drawing review and markup.
Completion of related courses in welding inspection, NDT, or piping design.
Prior experience working in a shipyard, marine, or offshore environment is a significant advantage.
