Job Description
Ramboll is part of an EPC project, where we are working as client's engineer for the EPC contractor located in Singapore. The Layout Engineering lead will act as a representative for the EPC contractor during design execution at EPC contractors office in Singapore.

In your role as Layout engineering lead, your focus will be to ensure and oversee that the 3d models, layout, piping, fire and safety, clash checks, vendor data, integration of vendor 3d models, constructability aspects of the design shall adhere to all prepared specifications and technical requirements as per the contract. As such, it will be your responsibility to follow up on progress, site queries, any non-conformances, facilitate minor adjustment as needed and daily technical clarifications. In doing so, you shall collaborate closely with representatives from the EPC contractor, the fabrication contractor, the engineering contractor, Suppliers and other disciplines and representatives from the client as required.

As such, in your role, you will:

• Validate 3D models (mechanical equipment, piping, cable routes, HVAC, structural interfaces, etc.,).
• Ensure models conform to project CAD standards and are fit for construction and installation.
• Integrate fire strategy requirements into the model (escape routes, fire zones, fire detection & suppression equipment, fire dampers, separation, smoke control).
• Verify clearances to fire equipment and egress paths and liaise with Fire Engineer/HSE to resolve non-compliances.
• Ensure compliance with relevant offshore/maritime and project-specific standards (e.g., DNV / IEC / SOLAS / project codes) and local regulations.
• Run scheduled clash checks on the 3d model (Navisworks or equivalent), prioritize clashes, track status and drive closure.
• Lead regular multidisciplinary coordination meetings to close critical and major clashes with EPC contractors and vendors.
• Receive, validate and integrate vendor models and data. Check coordinate systems, units, metadata, tags, BOM's and version control.
• Ensure vendor models meet constructability, interface and fire-safety requirements prior to acceptance and integration.
• Maintain vendor model register and manage sign-off/acceptance workflows.
• Perform constructability reviews (lifting/installation access, temporary works, transport limits, maintenance access) and raise feasible mitigations.
• Support the contractor during installation queries, RFI's and site walkdowns, capture as-built deviations and update models as required.
• Shall be integrated into the EPC engineering team.
• Where required, liaise and coordinate Layout / 3d model review tasks with Suppliers, EPC Contractor and other disciplines.
• Shall propose a solution, including supporting documentation on any design issues, flaws, or gaps in the contract requirements. These shall be agreed upon with Company before implementation.
• Collaborate closely with the fabrication yard representatives, the engineering design office, client's home office and other discipline representatives at the fabrication yard.
• Follow up on time schedules, progress and results from fabricator.
• Interact with clients and stakeholders on technical solutions to ensure the best solution and in the client's best interests.
• Ensure that department execution workflows and design tools are followed and maintained.

Job Qualifications / Skills
You must have a result-oriented, proactive and systematic approach to your work. You should enjoy working both independently and together with your colleagues and stakeholders from both the engineering team and the EPC team thus experience in both design and installation/commissioning is preferred. You will engage with multiple stakeholders during the execution thus teamwork is essential to achieve results.

Furthermore, you must:

• Have minimum a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• Have minimum 15 years of experience in mechanical offshore engineering - preferably with offshore substations - combined with managing and overseeing mechanical fabrication at a fabrication site.
• Have comprehensive understanding of offshore OSS design standards and codes, Korean regulations (including e.g. DNV-ST-0145).
• Have experience with typical OSS interfaces from design phase to procurement, vendors, shop preparations, materials, installation, Layout, safety, cable routing, equipment Tagging, numbering & marking, testing, and quality.
• Be familiar with standard OSS component vendors.
• Be familiar with the discipline interfaces and integration to other disciplines and systems.
• Speak and write English fluently.
• Have excellent communication skills, enabling you to convey complex technical information.

The primary focus areas of the department are the offshore wind and renewable energy solutions sectors. Our services cover the disciplines piping, layout and mechanical. We cover all aspects of a project including concept and feasibility studies, detailed engineering, EPC and follow-up engineering.

We represent a strong group with comprehensive experience in design and analysis of Offshore Substations for Offshore windfarms. The current position is working as the EPC contractor representative at EPC contractors office. A contract period of 5 months is currently foreseen with an estimated start on site from May 2026 to September 2026.
