ROLE OVERVIEW:
Execute piping design deliverables for offshore and LQ systems, working under the direction of the Piping Technical Lead. The Piping Engineer takes ownership of specific system or area scope, ensuring accurate modelling, documentation, and coordination with other disciplines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop 3D piping routing models and isometric drawings using AVEVA PDMS / E3D or equivalent.
- Coordinate with structural and HVAC teams to ensure integrated, clash-free design.
- Prepare and check piping design deliverables including line lists, support drawings, and material take-offs.
- Assist in piping stress analysis and support design activities.
- Participate in proposal and tender activities, including preparation of technical inputs and cost estimation.
- Work collaboratively across disciplines to ensure integrated and optimised design solutions.
- Support site activities including installation, testing, and commissioning when required.
- Engage with clients, shipyards, classification societies, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify and flag design issues or clashes to the Technical Lead for resolution.
- Support the Piping Technical Lead in design reviews and technical queries.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5 - 7 years of relevant experience in piping design, preferably in offshore or marine projects.
- Working proficiency in AVEVA PDMS, E3D, or equivalent 3D design platforms.
- Familiarity with offshore and marine piping codes and standards.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, general arrangement drawings, and structural drawings.
- Strong spatial and technical reasoning for 3D routing and layout work.
- Disciplined approach to documentation and drawing quality.
