Role & Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Provide effective Occupational Therapy and/or Physiotherapy assessments and treatments for clients across different care settings under the guidance and supervision of therapists.
- Prepare and set up therapy materials and equipment for client use.
- Conduct routine assessments and outcome measures as prescribed by therapists.
- Supervise and facilitate prescribed therapy or group activities.
- Carry out prescribed treatments as instructed by therapists, with appropriate supervision.
- Communicate therapy session updates and observations to the supervising therapists.
- Accurately document clients progress and maintain proper records.
- Educate clients and caregivers on therapeutic interventions as directed by therapists.
- Conduct basic or routine group therapy sessions.
- Participate actively in client review meetings and multidisciplinary case discussions.
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration within the multidisciplinary team.
Education & Training
- Take ownership of individual learning and development through participation in assigned training plans.
- Participate in departmental in-service and relevant external training programmes.
- Assist therapists in delivering training sessions to support staff, students, and volunteers.
- Support research and quality improvement initiatives within the department.
Administration & Operations
- Maintain the cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of therapy areas.
- Adhere strictly to infection control and safety protocols.
- Support the maintenance and inventory management of therapy equipment and supplies.
- Assist therapists with data collection, statistics, and preparation of monthly reports.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for therapy programmes and activities.
- Contribute ideas and feedback during workgroup meetings to enhance service quality and client care.
- Identify operational issues within the department and propose practical solutions or recommendations.
Other Duties
- Perform any other duties as assigned by therapists or the department supervisor.
Qualifications, Competencies & Experience
- Diploma in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, or relevant Health Science discipline.
- Experience in intermediate and long-term care settings or working with older adults and persons with disabilities.
- IT-proficient, with familiarity in cloud-based systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong team player with good interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Able to multitask, work independently, and adapt to a dynamic environment.
- Positive, proactive, and client-centred approach to service delivery
