Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Originate, negotiate, and execute third-party physical trading transactions across Methanol, MEG, Aniline, and other bulk petrochemical products.
  • Develop and manage supplier and customer relationships across China, Southeast Asia, India, the Middle East, and other key trading markets.
  • Identify market opportunities, arbitrage trades, and supply-demand imbalances to generate profitable trading opportunities.
  • Manage and grow a third-party trading portfolio with accountability for commercial performance and profitability.
  • Conduct market analysis on pricing trends, trade flows, supply-demand fundamentals, and competitor activities to support trading decisions.
  • Source new suppliers and develop new customer outlets to expand the company's market presence.
  • Support the marketing and sales of the company's production volumes, primarily Phenol and Acetone, ensuring optimal market placement and margin realization.
  • Work closely with logistics, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure efficient execution and delivery of physical transactions.
  • Manage trading exposures in collaboration with risk management teams and ensure adherence to company policies and controls.
  • Collaborate with adjacent commercial teams to identify cross-product and cross-regional opportunities.
  • Provide regular market intelligence, commercial updates, and performance reports to senior management.


Candidate Profile

  • 5-10+ years of experience in petrochemical trading, marketing, or origination.
  • Proven track record in third-party physical trading of Methanol, MEG, Aniline, and other bulk petrochemicals.
  • Demonstrated ability to originate and execute independent trading opportunities and manage commercial relationships across the value chain.
  • Strong network of producers, traders, distributors, and end-users.
  • Solid understanding of regional petrochemical trade flows, pricing mechanisms, arbitrage opportunities, and market fundamentals.
  • Experience handling bulk liquid chemicals, vessel cargoes, storage, terminal operations, and related logistics.
  • Prior exposure to marketing production volumes from petrochemical plants or manufacturers would be advantageous.
  • Commercially entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build and grow trading business lines.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced and dynamic trading environment.
