Job Responsibilities
- Handle the intake, transfer, and movement of deceased pets with care, dignity, and respect at all times.
- Carry out basic preparation and clean-up duties for deceased pets, equipment, work areas, and holding areas in accordance with hygiene and operational procedures.
- Learn and operate cremation equipment safely and properly, including start-up, monitoring, shutdown, and basic troubleshooting in accordance with company procedures and safety requirements.
- Ensure each cremation is carried out accurately and respectfully, with proper identification, tagging, and tracking to avoid any mix-up of pets or ashes.
- Support the collection and transportation of deceased pets and related items, where required.
- Prepare, pack, label, and hand over ashes, urns, and memorial items accurately and professionally.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the cremation facility, equipment, vehicles, and work environment at all times.
- Comply with workplace safety, hygiene, and operational standards, including the proper use of protective equipment and safe manual handling practices.
- Provide operational support to front-line staff and work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth daily scheduling and service delivery.
- Where required, interact with pet owners in a calm, respectful, and compassionate manner during collection, handover, or service-related communication.
- Report equipment issues, operational incidents, discrepancies, or safety concerns promptly to the supervisor.
- Perform other related operational duties as assigned by the company.
Job Requirements
- Comfortable with hands-on handling of deceased pets and able to work in a pet aftercare/cremation environment.
- Compassionate, respectful, and emotionally mature, with the ability to deal sensitively with grieving pet owners.
- Willing to learn and operate cremation equipment and follow strict operational, hygiene, and safety procedures.
- Physically fit and able to carry, lift, and move pets and related items safely.
- Responsible, careful, and detail-oriented, especially in identification, tracking, and handling processes.
- Willing to work on weekends, including either Saturday or Sunday, based on roster arrangements.
- Prior experience in cremation operations, funeral services, pet care, animal handling, logistics, or related operational work will be an advantage, but training may be provided for suitable candidates.
- Possession of a valid Singapore Class 3 driving licence is an advantage.
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and, where required, with customers.
