Unleash The Roar! (UTR!) is about building the Singapore football ecosystem that will serve to inspire and unite the nation. Co-led by Sport Singapore (SportSG) and the Football Association of Singapore (FAS), it is about the journey that will establish football as a sport with high participation, high performance regionally and internationally, and an economically viable professional career. Through the School Football Academy (SFA), ActiveSG Football Academy (AFA) and National Development Centre (NDC) around Singapore, the aim is to produce a cohort of players with a holistic development and solid foundation of physical, technical, tactical and mental skills, each of whom is primed to maximize his/her individual potential.
Placed within the UTR!team, you will be part of a dynamic team of coaches and sport scientists responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive program that is in line with the Singapore National Football Curriculum and Philosophy.
Job Description
- Develop and implement injury-prevention and monitoring programmes such as football-specific musculoskeletal screening.
- Assist players with their individual development plans by providing frequent reports on their physical status and progress.
- Coordinate and provide physiotherapy coverage (local and overseas).
- Coordinate and manage sport medicine, first-aid and safety related matters.
- Provide physiotherapy education sessions for players and coaches.
- For the senior role, you will setup the framework and workflows to provide progressive, pro-active and evidence-based sport physiotherapy support to youth footballers with a main focus on the NDC. You will lead and mentor other physiotherapists to work collaboratively with the fitness coaches and sport science staff on the overall physical preparation, injury prevention and rehabilitation programs.
Requirements
- A degree in Physiotherapy recognised by the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) Singapore
- Postgraduate qualifications in Sport Physiotherapy, Sport Science or equivalent (desirable)
- At least 2 years of experience (5 years for the senior role) in the provision of musculoskeletal physiotherapy services
- Ability to work as part of a transdisciplinary team
- Strength & conditioning professional certification (desirable)
- Passion for football with active involvement either as a coach, participant or volunteer
- First aid and CPR/AED certified
- Good interpersonal, oral and written (English) communication skills
- Up to date with ongoing football science and medicine research
