Job Description

Job Purpose:

The Performance Director is responsible for leading and overseeing the High Performance strategy, systems and programmes of the Singapore Combat Sports Centre (SCSC), Singapore's national high-performance training hub for combat sports. The Performance Director provides strategic leadership to develop and implement an integrated, sustainable and results driven high performance system across all SCSC-affiliated National Sports Associations (NSAs), supporting athlete progression from youth and developmental levels through to elite international competition.

Working closely with the SCSC CEO, Sport Singapore's High Performance & Sport Institute (HPSI), NSA leadership and coaching teams, the Performance Director will establish and drive the performance vision, athlete development frameworks, coaching structures and performance support systems necessary to achieve sustained success at Major Games, Asian Championships, World Championships and Olympic-level competitions. The Performance Director will also lead the development of high-performance policies, systems and operational frameworks to ensure alignment across NSAs.

6. High Performance Policy and Framework Development

1. High Performance Strategy and System Leadership

- Develop, implement and continuously refine SCSC's High Performance strategy and long-term athlete development framework across all affiliated combat sports.

- Establish integrated athlete performance pathways, including athlete categorisation frameworks, athlete development plans and progression systems from youth to elite levels.

- Provide strategic direction to ensure alignment of NSA High Performance programmes with SCSC's national performance objectives and Major Games targets.

2. Programme Oversight and Performance Management

- Oversee the planning, implementation and monitoring of national training programmes, competition preparation plans and performance initiatives across SCSC-affiliated NSAs.

- Establish performance monitoring and evaluation systems to track athlete progression, programme effectiveness and performance outcomes.

- Provide technical leadership and guidance to NSA High Performance teams and National Coaches to strengthen programme delivery and performance standards.

3. Performance Support System Development

- Lead the integration and coordination of performance support services, including Strength & Conditioning, Sport Science, Sport Medicine, Physiotherapy and other specialist services.

- Establish performance support frameworks and standard operating procedures to optimise athlete preparation, performance and injury prevention.

- Work with HPSI and other performance support providers to ensure athletes receive coordinated, high-quality support services.

4. Coaching and Technical Leadership

- Provide leadership, mentorship and guidance to NSA National Coaches and High Performance personnel to strengthen coaching capability and programme effectiveness.

- Support the development and implementation of coaching frameworks, standards and technical performance systems.

- Foster a high-performance culture focused on excellence, accountability and continuous improvement across all SCSC-affiliated sports.

5. Governance and Stakeholder Engagement

- Work closely with the SCSC CEO, HPSI, Sport Singapore and NSA leadership to ensure alignment of High Performance strategies and initiatives.

- Participate in Joint Management Committee (JMC), High Performance Working Committee and relevant governance and planning meetings.

- Provide regular reports, performance reviews and strategic recommendations to SCSC leadership and stakeholders.

6. High Performance Policy and Framework Development

- Develop and implement High Performance policies, systems and operational frameworks to support athlete development and performance delivery.

- Establish clear standards, processes and accountability mechanisms across SCSC and affiliated NSAs.

- Support the continuous improvement and professionalisation of Singapore's combat sports high-performance ecosystem.
